Privacy Policy
1. Information We Collect
- Account data: email address, authentication identifiers, and author display name.
- Project data: manuscripts, chapters, outlines, comments, and encyclopedia entries.
- Uploaded content: cover images and other files you choose to upload.
- Technical data: device/browser metadata, logs, and analytics needed for reliability and security.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide and maintain Storywell features.
- Support collaboration between authors, editors, and viewers you authorize.
- Generate AI-assisted outputs when you trigger eligible features.
- Protect the platform against abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.
- Send service emails (for example, invites, account notices, and editing digests).
3. AI Processing
When you use AI features, relevant manuscript excerpts and metadata may be processed by third-party AI providers to return results such as entity detection and summaries. AI processing is feature-driven and does not run continuously in the background.
4. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with infrastructure and service providers required to operate Storywell (for example hosting, database, authentication, email, and AI vendors), and only as needed to deliver the service.
5. Collaboration and Public Links
Your project content is private by default. If you create viewer links, send editor invites, or share access intentionally, recipients can access the content permitted by your chosen sharing mode.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep your data while your account remains active. You can request account deletion from settings. Deleted data is removed from active systems, with limited retention in backups and logs for operational, legal, or security reasons.
7. Security
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. No system is guaranteed to be 100% secure, so you should also protect your account credentials and devices.
8. Your Choices
- Update your account information and author profile in settings.
- Control sharing and editor permissions per project.
- Choose theme and product preferences where available.
